I’ve finally finished the throw I’ve been making for mum’s christmas present. I love mum’s garden. It’s very much a cottage garden with a huge variety of colour all jumbled together. At the height of the summer, it looks amazing. I was inspired by all the colours of the plants and flowers and the idea of the throw is bringing the garden inside – a reminder during the cold winters. The pattern was very simple, a v-stitch, but using cluster stitches instead of the usual trebles. This made for a very thick, squishy fabric which feels lovely. Just the thing to snuggle under.
I started this back in August and it worked up very quickly. I’d actually finished the main body of the throw in September. It’s taken me weeks so darn in all the tail ends from the colour changes (all 254 of them), mainly because I hate doing it. After 20 or sew, I’m ready to stab myself with the needle! I ended up taking it to work with me on night shifts and just doing a few dozen ends each night. By the time I finished work this week, I just had around 30 ends left to darn in.
The border didn’t take long at all, just a couple of days. The pattern was very well presented and made it easy work up. Overall, I’m thrilled with the end result. Hopefully, mum will be too!
Saw this on raverly Love the colours and stitch have put this on my faves.

Thank you, Anne ๐ I’m learning to be bolder with my colour choices, but don’t feel very confident yet, so it’s really lovely to get such positive feedback.
